Pizzaiolos, cousins and best friends, Francis Garcia and Sal Basille, are two regular guys from the neighborhood, whose DNA reads garlic and oil. They are fourth generation restaurateurs. Since opening their first store in New York City’s East Village in 2008, Artichoke Basille’s Pizza has expanded to twelve hugely successful locations across the country. They have always impressed critics, fellow chefs, and chowhounds alike and are now teaming up with Fransmart for global franchise development.

Since launching Artichoke Basille’s Pizza, Fran and Sal have been featured on The Tonight Show with Jay Leno, The Rachael Ray Show, Late Night with Seth Meyers, The Chew, as well as written up in The New York Times, The New York Post, New York Magazine and numerous other food blogs, websites and publications. Their never-ending line of devoted Artichoke Pizza fans include many celebrities, but most importantly, it draws from legions of native New Yorkers.

Artichoke Pizza’s premiere series, Pizza Cuz, aired on the Cooking Channel and had them out on the road in a mouth-watering exploration of pizza across the country. Pizza Masters followed, another food trek series with a huge sense of humor that is still airing on the Cooking Channel and Netflix.

“Came here to get 2 slices of Pizza to go. I got the crab slice and a vodka slice. The crab slice was huge and so flavorful and delicious. I love how the crust & dough is thin. I normally don't like to eat crust, but I loved the crust on Artichoke's pizza. $5/each for the slices I got." - Chelsea H.
  • Testimonials

"The artichoke basil pizza is by far one of the best slices of pizza I've ever had, in addition to the pizza being absolutely amazing, the staff was super friendly. The pizza was very fresh, and came out very fast. The crust is crispy enough to hold the artichoke dip and cheese, yet still owns the New York flop." - Anibal M.

"My boyfriend was traveling in NY when he discovered this place and quickly learned of the Berkeley location. After returning to CA he took me here. We both ordered a slice and we ordered one to go for some roommates. Before I was even halfway done with my slice, I ordered 3 more slices to go. I now have a new favorite. Don't be stupid, get the Artichoke! IT IS THE BEST PIZZA THERE EVER WAS!! We live about 40 minutes North.. I wish we were closer" - Megan S.
  • Testimonials

“Artichoke slice is a must have as well as the meatball parm! I had both slices cut in half they're so big! I had to pull over for a bite because the smell was intoxicating Definitely trying again next time in town but will opt for a whole pie because I didn't get enough” - Tiffany J.
